The Department of Mizo was established along with the inception of the college in 1984. Ms. Heather was the Head of the Department in the initial years. The Department offers both MIL and Elective to the students. At present, Mr. Roluahpuia Solo is in charge of the Department.

Mr. Roluahpuia Solo, joined the College as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mizo in July 2009. Before joining this College, he was teaching Mizo Subject in Morning Star College for 10 years and Synod College Shillong for 5 years. He was a Graduate in Mizo Language with MIL and Elective and finished his Master Degree from the Department of Geography in NEHU.He was also a Law graduate(LLB) from Shillong Law College,NEHU. In the year 2011 he went abroad for higher studies and finished Summer Law and English (SLE) from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, USA.
